The 24-Hour Door: A Member's Guide to Training After Hours
Membership gets you the barcode. The rules get you through the door.

The best thing about a 24-hour gym is also the thing that confuses first-time members: there is no one at the desk at 2 a.m. The door is the front desk. Your barcode is the membership card, and the rules are what keep the building usable for everyone else.
The door is the membership card
Active members get 24-hour access through a barcode door scan. There is no key, no fob to lose and no need to call ahead. If your membership is active, the door is open on your schedule.
Day passes and 3-day punches are different. They are sold during staffed hours only, so a 2 a.m. arrival without an active membership is not a day-pass situation. Call (858) 223-9800 for staffed hours before you drive over.
A tailgate is not a favor; it is an unregistered person in the building.
Scan once, wait for the latch
Scan the barcode and wait about three seconds for the latch. The delay is not a malfunction; it is the door releasing. Pulling the handle repeatedly while the latch is still engaged is how people convince themselves the door is broken.
If the scan does not take, check the barcode and try once more. If it still fails, call the gym rather than forcing the door.
One entry per scan
The door allows one entry per scan. Do not let others in behind you. It is the same rule as any controlled-access building, and it is the reason the gym can stay open around the clock.
This matters most at night, when the person behind you is a stranger and there is no staff member to check a membership. A tailgate is not a favor; it is an unregistered person in the building.
Training alone after hours
After hours, you are responsible for your own setup. Use the racks and platforms as intended, load both sides evenly, and put plates back where they belong. A safe room at 3 a.m. is a room where the next person can find the equipment.
Train within your program. A heavy single with no spotter is a choice, not a requirement. If you are testing a max, use the safeties or bring a training partner.
When staff are there
Staffed hours are when you can buy a day pass, redeem a punch, ask about membership and get a look at the facility before joining. The gym does not publish those hours on this site because they are not confirmed — call (858) 223-9800 and ask before you visit.
The short version
Active members: scan, wait for the latch, one entry per scan. Visitors: call for staffed hours and buy a day pass or punch in person. Everyone: put the plates back.
