The story

Built for the work, not the lobby.

Metroflex Miramar was founded as a hardcore training facility, and the room still reads that way. It is 6,000 square feet of equipment for people who want to push every rep: competition benches, platforms and racks, calibrated competition plates, specialty barbells, dumbbells to 200 lb.

The gym is a certified Hammer Strength training facility. It also carries strongman equipment, an agility turf, a cardio room, indoor/outdoor capability, and locker rooms with showers. The point is not to be everything to everyone. The point is to have the right equipment for the training you actually do.

That includes bodybuilding, powerlifting and overall strength & conditioning, at all levels. The rates are deliberately low for the equipment in the room: $45 a month, or $40 for military, first responders and students. Active members can train around the clock.

Standards

What the room promises.

Four things you can check before you join, and again after.

  1. 01

    Equipment first

Certified Hammer Strength. Competition benches, platforms and racks. Calibrated competition plates. Specialty barbells. Strongman equipment. The room is the product.

  2. 02

    Rates on the board

$45 a month or $495 a year. Military, first responders and students pay $40 a month or $440 a year. A $20 initiation / annual equipment maintenance fee. Recurring, no cancellation fee.

  3. 03

    Access on your schedule

Active members get 24-hour access through a barcode door. Day passes and 3-day punches are sold during staffed hours only.

  4. 04

    All levels, one room

Bodybuilding, powerlifting and strength & conditioning share the same 6,000 sq ft floor. The equipment is competition spec; the membership is not.

The space

Every line item.

The equipment list, in full. If it is on this list, it is in the room on Miramar Road.

The door

Three rules. One room.

Active members scan a barcode at the door, wait about three seconds for the latch, and enter. One entry per scan. Do not let others in behind you. The rules are short because they are the reason the building can stay open all night.
